Hosted By Jojo Silva

Jojo Silva is a radio presenter from West London. She is the host of the Early Breakfast show on Capital Xtra, Mon to Fri.

Jojo’s journey in radio started after applying to present on her university radio station. She developed a passion for broadcasting and a year on from hosting the ‘Chart and Chat’ show, she progressed into overseeing the production and presenting of her own specialist RnB show at Royal Holloway’s Insanity Radio before going on to join Watford’s IMIN Radio.

After submitting a demo to Westside Radio on a whim, Jojo was invited to cover a variety of slots on the station before taking the reigns and hosting the Westside Connection (Mon-Fri). In May 2022, Jojo started covering shows on the UK's biggest Hip Hop station Capital Xtra broadcasting nationwide. Fast forward to 2023 and in September, Jojo was given the Early Breakfast show from Mon to Fri, 4-6.30am.

DJ RAE MAARY

RAE MAARY is DJ of South African, British and African American descent. Born into a family of creatives and musicians spanning generations, it was inevitable that she would arrive at a career in music somehow. Born and raised in Brixton, South London, she was constantly surrounded by the cultures of Hip Hop, Dancehall and a variety of African music genres. As well as having a love for sampling, she found fascination in the way Hip Hop DJs created whole new songs with the decks, then how Dancehall DJs juggled and also used scratching to manipulate the songs they played.

The first set of decks she used, were her uncle's and once she learned the basic functions, she fell in love and decided to pursue the art of Dying as a career. She now plays a range of music from R&B, House, Afrobeats, Amapiano and Hip Hop to Alternative, Dancehall, Rare Groove and Funk. Aiming to have her career as a DJ take her around the world, she enjoys sharing music with others and hopes that she can continue the legacy, by passing her love of music down to her daughter. She feels like she would have achieved success by championing other women in this space, developing from selecting music to creating music as a DJ/ Producer and continuing to share that passion with crowds of people.
