Having previously explored London, AFROPUNK now enters Brixton. The fresh location, and change in programme, with a week-long (1-8 September 2018) multidisciplinary offering of events and exhibitions is a natural fit in line with AFROPUNK’s desire to connect through Diaspora; creating bonds between those with a shared mindset.
AFROPUNK is proud to descend on South London, a globally recognised hotbed for African and Caribbean societies in the UK Capital.
As part of the takeover of Brixton, AFROPUNK heads to Electric Brixton on 7 Sept for a melting pot of vintage sounds and new-gen energy, get ready for a club-ready shake down as they host Soul II Soul's Jazzie B, local heroes BBZ, and NTS' party crew BORN N BREAD with a very special guest to be announced, it's good times guaranteed.
AFROPUNK is defining culture by the collective creative actions of the individual and the group. It is a safe place, a blank space to freak out in, to construct a new reality, to live your life as you see fit, while making sense of the world around you.
