Fast-rising Jersey born singer, songwriter and musician ALUS comes roaring into 2018 with the brand new music video for her exciting remake of British rap star Not3s’ breakthrough hit single ‘Aladdin’, where she transforms the fun and carefree original, into a fierce and confident girl power anthem – adding her own unique twist and interpretation, with confident lyrical dexterity and infectious flow.
Directed by Prime Prodigy, who has previously worked with the likes of French Montana, Fetty Wap, and Jim Jones, among others, the visuals for Alus’ ‘Aladdin’ don’t just excellently back up the assured girl power and braggadocious theme, that Alus sings about – from rolling around in the 2018 Rolls Royce Phantom to flexing on her majestic throne – but it also highlights Alus’ performance prowess, which she has honed from shutting down shows at SOBs, SXSW and Madison Square Garden.
Speaking about the inspiration behind her ‘Aladdin’ remake, Alus says, “When I first heard Not3s’ song ‘Aladdin’, I fell in love with it. The record immediately caught my attention and I knew I had to create a female version that was an exuberant celebration of all the women I know. No matter who you are or how you look, you can feel fly like Aladdin and that’s how this record made me feel. I also wanted the video to highlight the regal side of womanhood in all of us girls”.
More popularly known for her breakthrough hit singles ‘Ordinary Girl’, which was released via All Def Digital, and ‘Talk It’, Alus comes on the back of strong support from VIBE Magazine, MTV Hits, Power 105.1, Hot 97, XXL and The Source, among others, recent co-signs from Nicki Minaj, Big Sean and Steve Rifkind, and already boasts over four millions plays on YouTube alone. Starting with her ‘Aladdin’ video release, the R&B/Pop songstress is destined for big things in 2018.
