Hailing from rural Derbyshire and now residing in East London, singer-songwriter Dawson Reeve has dropped his debut single, the lush and intimate alt-pop cut ‘Circumstance’. Having a background in busking and gaining a rep as an accomplished loop artist, he has enraptured audiences all over the world but now he aims to focus on his own songs, songwriting and conveying his passion for music with his unique heartfelt style of downbeat electronic pop.
This shift in focus has resulted in the rich soundscape of ‘Circumstance’, a track which showcases his flair with live instrumentation, loops and trademark intimate vocal delivery - a sound which has drawn comparisons with Ed Sheeran, James Blake and London Grammar. Fans have already come in the shape of Sofar Sounds (with whom he has shot a session with in Oct) and UMA Music, who will host him at their Horizon Showcase and session in November.

Speaking of the track he explains:
“Circumstance is all about the problem of meeting the right person, but at the wrong moment in time. Sometimes in a relationship people grow at different rates, and want different things. The track is about accepting this and moving on.”

Possessing a canny skill of combining expertly crafted soulful pop with technical nous, his skill of manipulating arrangements comes from a background as a renowned effects/live looper, something that has gained him notoriety and plaudits such as becoming 2 time Boss Loop Station UK champion. On the road he has racked up an impressive number of gigs in the capital including; The Bedford, YouTube and Google HQ, as well as further-flung parts of the world such as; representing the UK at the World Loop Station finals with Boss in LA (with following tour of the west coast), a summer-long residency for Ibiza Rocks Bar in Ibiza, Bestival and Camp Bestival shows plus tours across SE Asia, South America, Scandinavia and this year across the UK with Sam Way. TV appearances around his busking exploits include; BBC World News and London Live.
