Cadet’s E.P, The Commitment 2, has touched down today on iTunes.
Mixing up the pace from the thought provoking and emotive ‘Instagram Girls’ and ‘No More Letters’, this grimy joint intends to lick off heads with back to back fire flows, unmistakable ad-libs and an equally head turning video. The orchestral strings and brass add depth and no-nonsense meaning to the beat, whilst Cadet and Ghetts pass the baton with bars that are heading for instant reloads, allowing you a second to catch your breath and figure out if they really did just say what you thought they did.
The single is the third to be taken from ‘The Commitment 2’ E.P, which has seen a huge amount of support from tastemakers, fellow artists and fans on the lead up to release day, which has understandably seen it jump straight in to the iTunes chart. Catching up with him after his recent performance at Wireless, where he performed tracks from ‘The Commitment 2’ live, Metro noted that Cadet is “someone that really wants it and is well on his way to a glowing future In music”. This goes along previous plaudits from the likes of key music sites such as Complex, awarding him with reviews that state: "Cadet's new freestyle is better than some rappers' whole mixtape”
Rising to stardom through a selection of gripping freestyles that boasted honest and engaging concepts, Cadet’s ability to capture passion, pain and power within his bars has made him relatable, genuine and accessible to a wide audience, resulting in him being aligned with the elite of Britain’s emcees. He has been championed by BBC Radio 1/1Xtra DJ’s Semtex and Charlie Sloth, toured with Krept & Konan and has racked up public support from artists including Wiley and Stormzy. With his continued ‘Commitment 2’ his craft and his impressive musical output on his new E.P, Cadet solidifies his status as the UK’s Underrated Legend.
