#NewMusic | Double S feat. Skepta - Certy

Been a fan of Double SFrom Day’, excuse the pun! But since him and Chip (then Chipmunk) were sparring back to back on tracks and freestyles I have never felt he is where he belongs to be. He is grime’s “Flow Farda” and was part of a 3 man group that should have been as big as Krept & Konan are today. But as sometimes happens everything didn’t work out.

Double still has a lot of respect from his peers as is shown by the fact that mentioning he can imagine Skepta on a track, on social media actually materialised. “From Day” was Double S’s stella entrance in the game and he had moments of excellence with freestyles, the ChipmunkJumeirah Riddim’ and some strong cuts with Marvell. It is not until ‘Certy’ that I feel Double has nailed it can got that anthem that may propel him to the height he should have already reached.

Certy is a trap inspired bounce where Double & Skepta trade punchlines about success, women and material objects. Produced by grime legend Silencer (Teddy Music) I hope this becomes the anthem it should be a catch all the reloads I would give it if I was DJ. ‘Certy is out now to watch on GRM Daily and available to buy and stream on the usual digital providers.
