#NEWMUSIC | Jords - Almost an Adult
Hailing from Croydon, if you haven’t heard of music artist Jords, you’re slacking! He's been making moves for a few years; we remember him from being on our Artist Development Programme in 2017 and it’s been an honour watching him blossom since.
Can we please talk about the film he recently created with talented Director and Cinematographer Curtis Essel (33 Bound)?! The 8 minute work of art is a beautifully shot dedication in memory of his grandparents and loved ones who have passed away. It includes songs ‘Halos’ Feat. Thea Gajic, ‘Mrs Chambers Kitchen 2’, ‘Rose Tinted Glasses’ Feat. Jaz Karis & ‘Patterned’ Feat. Dotty from the album. The visual feels vulnerable and really showcases the variety of music Jords has always had the talent of creating. Through his music and aesthetic many topics are explored including growing (up and as an individual), the complexities of defining home and the importance of family and friends.
Jords said:
“If I make something it has to mean something. This film is the truest representation of me as an artist and as a man. This represents the journey that I had to take on the way to becoming a man. Creating this body of work, has been one of the most challenging, yet most rewarding things I have ever done.”
Having filmed in Kingston, Jamaica and London, Curtis added:
“We were so blessed to have such a talented team both in Kingston and London. On set, you could really sense that the film was so precious to everyone and this is so evident in every single frame.”
