#NEWMUSIC | Ego Ella May - Honey for Wounds (Album)

South London artist Ego Ella May has truly blown us away with new album ‘Honey for Wounds'.’ The tracks are laced with nostalgia; her vocals are like a warm hug in these hazy quarantine days.

The first release on actor John Boyega’s record label ‘Upper Room Records’, Ego Ella May new LP is going from strength to strength. After feeling hesitant to release with the current circumstance, Ego said earlier in the month:

“I feel like it’s been ready a long time and there’s no point in me pushing it back because ultimately we still need music and art to get us by.”

Her lyricism has always been a strength and shines through with words about self doubt & female empowerment; her honesty in all her songs is heavy and heartfelt and makes for very relatable tracks. ‘Tonight I’m Drowning’ is one of our favourites; the jazz infused song is reminiscent of Amy Winehouse’s early work.

A truly powerful LP - our only wish is that the Give A Little outro was a whole song! It is so beautiful!
