Emmavie releases 2 tracks from her ‘ADDICTIVE PERSONALITY’ series

Emmavie is a singer/songwriter and producer. She specialises in what she describes as "limitless, soulful, future R&B". Her music is an amalgamation of 90s R&B and her love for digital audio experimentation.
Following the November 2018 release ‘RATHER BE’, we are blessed with the release of ‘OOPS’, a sexy bass lick driven, 90’s Neo-soul inspired track. And “LETTER" is a futuristic, experimental and rhythmic fusion of jazz and hip hop with an Afro-Cuban jazz inspired vocal melody.
Emmavie said, “‘OOPS’ goes on a musical journey around the topic of make-up sex, as the protagonist struggles to resist her ex-partner - who is often not an ex for long. The song is layered with sultry harmonies whilst a saxophone weaves in, out and between the main vocal.’’ She explains, “The song moves between different sections and sports a spacey bridge, reminiscent of classic D’Angelo and Groove Theory but delivered by a woman from Harrow, London. For fans of Alex Isley and Smino.”
The 2nd track in this double release is “Letter", Emmavie says, “Its 6/8 time signature is designed to break a listener’s neck nodding to this tune. The song carries a positive message of truly knowing and loving yourself before giving your innocence and consequently, your inner peace away to people. For fans of Iman Omari and Bilal.”
Emmavie has credits spawned across a number of artists both UK based and internationally, including collaborations with IAMNOBODI, Budgie, ROMderful, Jarreau Vandal, Dornik, Alfa Mist, Nick Grant and Jay Prince.
Emmavie's high profile performances have seen her share the stage with the legendary R&B singer, Jon B, Grammy and ASCAP award winning singer/songwriter, Eric Bellinger, Smino, Iman Omari, Mahalia and The Internet front woman, Syd (Red Bull Music Academy’s Paths Unknown). She also had the privilege of supporting the multitalented Masego on his 2017 European Tour. Hitting 8 cities in the UK, France, Belgium, Denmark, Germany and Italy.
Following a number of successful collaborations with Soulection (LA), Emmavie went on to perform as part of the Soulection Sound of Tomorrow World Tour, to a sell-out audience at KOKO, Camden and at the Roundhouse. Joe Kay, Soulection co-founder, again invited her to perform at his sold-out show at Village Underground, June 2018.
Emmavie's songs receive regular radio play on stations such as BBC 1xtra, Beats Radio, Rinse FM, Reprezent, THE BEAT 103.6 FM and MiSoul Radio. Championed by many specialists including Future Bounce pioneer Jamz Supernova, Everything R&B ambassador DJ Ace and Rinse FM’s nu soul tastemaker Jyoty. ‘RATHER BE’ was BBC 1Xtra’s Weekend Anthem on the 15th and 16th December and received numerous support across all show on the station.
She has been featured on popular culture publications: SBTV, i-D Magazine, Clash and Paper Magazine where she was listed as part of the, ’10 Rising UK R&B acts you need to jump on’.
Recently, Emmavie and long-time collaborator / friend, ROMderful, took part in an episode of Boiler Room TV’s ‘Crowdsourced’, which saw the two make several tracks on a live stream using samples and subject matters sent in by viewers of the cult show.
2019 will see the release of her volume series, ’ADDICTIVE PERSONALITY’ and her debut album ‘Honeymoon’ on Fresh Selects, Portland, OR, USA.
