#NEWMUSIC | Kadeem Tyrell - Elements (EP)

Kadeem has been making moves over the past few years and dropped his new EP last month. After a collab EP with RYN and his debut Feels, Kadeem is showing real growth and maturity with his new release. ‘Elements’ demonstrates Kadeem’s ability to make beautiful songs with ‘April 25th’ and ‘Smoke And Mirrors’ being the key case studies. He is improving vocally with each song and one the two songs already mentioned he flourishes with some incredible female backing on both.

Where as ‘Feels’ was more the electronic R&B sound in a similar vein to the Soulection sound, Kadeem has drifted into a more experimental realm in this project with glimpses of that sound in ‘Energy’ and ‘Take Me’. ‘For Good’ has a more 90s feel with the boom bap rap drums and ‘April 25th’ is just one of those soul tracks that come along and scream, ‘Classic R&B’. ‘Smoke And Mirrors’ which features vocalist and musician duo Ka-Li is a psych-a-delic mood with hints of Tame Impala and Van Hunt.

The south London singer-songwriter has delivered a tidy body of work which should touch the soul of R&B fans old and young and continues to hold the torch for the innovative R&B movement coming out of the UK at the moment. You can catch him performing his very own headline show on Tuesday 24th September at Miranda at the Ace Hotel. Tickets are available from the link below and selling fast.
