Anjelo 'Roots' Out Now
South London singer, songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist Anjelo Disons has unveiled new single ‘Roots’, out 2nd June.
The first single from his forthcoming EP ‘The Garden’, ‘Roots’ is a smooth, sax-led jazz jam that features fellow South London talent Kaidi Akinnibi. It marks Anjelo’s fifth single of the year, following on from ‘Lullaby’, ‘Destiny’, ‘Time’ and ‘Brighter Day’.
A budding, 22-year-old multi-instrumentalist who was mentored by scene aficionado Julian Joseph, Anjelo attended the coveted BRIT School and plays in the band The Oracle, which includes musicians who work with Tom Misch, Dave, Kali Claire and Blue Lab BeatszzzΩ. He has also engineered and produced for a long list of artists that includes Hak Baker, Rak Su, Yizzy, Morgan Monroe and Bshp.
A saxophonist, singer and composer, Kaidi Akinnibi is best known for working closely with Celeste and featuring on her debut album. He also has a side project with NK-OK from blue lab, titled Kaidi & NK-OK, with the pair dropping an album The Sounds Of Afrotronica, last year.
Brimming with soulful energy, ‘Roots’ sets the tone nicely for ‘The Garden’, out 21st June on Oracle Co / Believe Digital.
